This 2-day training course addresses the standard by providing "hands on" instruction to students in the proper use of slings, straps, chokes and wire rope rigging as well as shackles, hooks and clasps. This course also covers the selection of the proper rigging gear to be used and the inspection and replacement process of all types of rigging gear; and how to read load charts and the formulas used to determine the "Load Angle Factor (LAF)", tension factors, load Center of Gravity and D/d ratios "Angle of Choke". Using a rigging chart, students will learn how to make calculations for proper rigging of a load. Basic safety considerations are also reviewed such as wind speed, weather conditions, ground conditions and fall protection required for rigging operations. The training meets the requirements based on the OSHA 1926.1400 rule.
