It is the responsibility of the Student to make their own Airline, transportation to and from Anchorage Airport and Hotel Reservations.

Hotel
The Valley Hotel is located in downtown Palmer. For reservations please call: (907) 745-3330 let them know that you are an NIT student.
Valley Hotel has discounted summer (May thru August) and winter (Mid September thru April) room rates. No discounted rates during the Alaska State Fair.
Meals - Allow $30 - $35 per day. This cost will vary upon each individual.
DOT Physical - Costs will vary depending on where you have this done.

DMV – Division of Motor Vehicles - Driver’s History Report - $10.00 (DMV fee)

Hazardous Material Endorsement - $94.00 (TSA fee)
Beginning January 31, 2005 the USA PATRIOT Act (PDF 848KB) requires all drivers who transport hazardous materials to undergo a security threat assessment. This includes a background and fingerprint check.
Daily Transportation to and from class
NIT will make travel arrangements from the Valley Hotel to the training site(s) in the morning before class and in the evening after class for $8.00 each way ($16.00) per day for the scheduled training days. Prior arrangements must be made with NIT if you will need transportation. |
