Pipeline Maintenance

 

Pipeline Maintenance Level 1

 

This 180 hour course provides students with the skills required to be entry level pipeline maintenance technicians. Course includes introduction to the pipeline industry, release identification and response, and pipeline documentation.

Curriculum:

Core Curriculum 72.5 Hours
Introduction to the Pipeline Industry 15 Hours
Liquid Pipeline General Abnormal Operating Conditions 5 Hours
Release Identification and response 7.5 Hours
Tools of the Trade 10 Hours
Pipeline Documentation 15 Hours
Preventing Pipeline Damage 15 Hours
Excavating and Backfilling 17.5 Hours
Field Labs 22.5 Hours

Pipeline Maintenance Level II

 

This 180 hour course will teach students how to be intermediate pipeline maintenance technicians. Course includes right of way inspection, facility inspection and pipeline coating inspection. Prerequisite: Pipeline Maintenance Level 1.

Right of Way Inspection 20 Hours
Facility Inspection 17.5 Hours
Valve Inspection 22.5 Hours
Pipeline Coating Inspection 20 Hours
Pipe Inspection and Nondestructive Testing 25 Hours
Pipeline Maintenance 32.5 Hours
Hydrostatic Testing 17.5 Hours
Field Labs 25 Hours

Pipeline Maintenance Level III

 

This 202.5 hour course will promote students to advanced level pipeline maintenance technicians. Course includes general maintenance and winterizing pipeline equipment, pipeline damage inspection and pipeline repair. Prerequisite: Pipeline Maintenance Level 1 and 2.

General Maintenance and Winterizing Pipeline Equipment 7.5 Hours
Pipeline Damage Inspection 10 Hours
Performing In Line Inspections 15 Hours
Pipeline Repair 40 Hours
Relocating and Lowering Pipelines 15 Hours
Hot Tapping and Stoppling – 2.5 and Larger 15 Hours
Tank Repair 40 Hours
Maintenance Welding on Pipelines 25 Hours
Performing Pipeline Disconnection Procedures 20 Hours
Vault Maintenance and Confined Space Entry 15 Hours
