Northern Industrial Training is a vocational school open to the general public, dedicated to training Alaskans for the future. Located in Palmer, AK. NIT offers hands on and classroom training in:

      STEP Grant Opportunity Available

NIT has been awarded a Grant through the State of Alaska, State Training and Employment Program (STEP) funds for the 2008-2009 year. The purpose of this grant is to train and prepare Alaskan residents for employment in Alaska’s High Growth Construction and Oil & Gas Industry. Please see Grant Application Packet under Admissions. Read the entire application packet for details on eligibility. Applications MUST be filled out completely to be considered for the following training opportunities:

• NCCER Plumbing, Pipefitting, and Conduit Bending  

• Roustabout Training

• North Slope Training (NSTC) Unescorted 6-pack w/ H2S

• Hazardous Materials General Site Worker 40 hour
