NCCER Plumbing Courses

 

Plumbing Level I

This 195-hour program introduces students to the plumbing industry, including plumbing theory,

introduction to plumbing tools, and operations. Provides a history of plumbing and discusses the

current technology, industries, and association that make up the modern plumbing profession,

including human relations, and safety skills.

Prerequisites: Drivers license recommended, GED or High School Diploma, DOT physical,

FMCSA/DOT drug test. Information on additional levels at www.nitalaska.com.

Tuition: $4,100 Book & Material fee: $400 (Minimum of 4 students)

Plumbing Level II

This 180 hour course is the second step in the entry level phase of our plumbing courses. Students are taught plumbing math and plumbing installation techniques.
Prerequisites: Plumbing Level One.

Curriculum:

Plumbing Math 25 Hours
Reading Commercial Drawings 20 Hours
Hangers, Supports, Structural Penetrations, and Fire Stopping 15 Hours
Installing and Testing DWV Piping 25 Hours
Installing Roof, Floor, and Area Drains 5 Hours
Types of Valves 5 Hours
Installing and Testing Water Supply Piping 20 Hours
Installing Fixtures, Valves, and Faucets 20 Hours
Basic Electricity 15 Hours
Installing Water Heaters 5 Hours
Fuel Gas Systems 20 Hours Servicing of Fixtures, Valves and Faucets 5 Hours

Plumbing Level III

This 180 hour course guides students through the intermediate phase of becoming a plumbers helper. Students are exposed to plumbing codes, types of venting and servicing piping systems, fixtures and appliances. Prerequisites: Plumbing Levels 1 and 2.

Indirect and Special Waste 15 Hours
Sewage Pumps and Sump Pumps 17.5 Hours
Sizing Water Supply Piping 20 Hours
Backflow Preventers 20 Hours
Water Pressure Boosters and Recirculating Systems 20 Hours
Servicing Piping Systems, Fixtures and Appliances 20 Hours
Field Labs 27.5 Hours

Plumbing Level IV

This 180 course is the final phase of becoming a plumber. Students are taught advanced plumbing techniques and following this course are capable of performing advanced plumbers helpers assignments. Prerequisites: Plumbing Levels 1, 2 and 3.

Locating Buried Water and Sewer Lines 12.5 Hours

Swimming Pools and Hot Tubs 15 Hours
Compressed Air 10 Hours
Corrosive-Resistant Waste Piping 12.5 Hours
Plumbing for Mobile Homes & Parks 10 Hours
